Swati Arun

Dr. Swati Arun is an Associate Fellow at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi. Her areas of research include US-China relations, great power competition and China’s foreign and security policies.

Dr. Arun holds a MA in International Relations from the School of International Studies (SIS), and an MPhil and PhD from the Centre for East Asian Studies, SIS, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Previously, she has served as a Consultant with the Centre of Contemporary China Studies, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, where she contributed policy papers on China’s influence operations and US–China strategic competition. She was also a Taiwan Fellow (2024) with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan, where she conducted research on Taiwan’s national security and its role in the Indo-Pacific strategy.
