Director General IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta DG, paid a courtesy call to Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Communication and Information Shri Sachin Pilot on July 6, 2012 at Minister’s Chamber and briefed him on IDSA’s activities, including the latest Task Force Report on Cyber Security.

Research fellow, IDSA, Dr Uttam Sinha shared some of his experiences on leadership and research network with the 2012 batch of Chevening Gurukul Fellows. Dr Sinha was a 2008 Chevening Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE).

Director General, IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta attended a brainstorming session on International Cyber Security Strategy for India, organised by Special Secretary (Pol) Asoke Kumar Mukerji at the Ministry of External Affairs on June 22, 2012.

Senior Research Associate, IDSA, Dr Rajiv Nayan spoke on Trends in the Multilateral Export Controls Regimes and India in an Export Control workshop on ‘Managing Trade in Strategic Goods and Technologies in the Asia-Pacific’. The Workshop was organised by Pacific Forum CSIS and the Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University, Taiwan in Taipei from June 17-19, 2012.

Director General, IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta and Research Fellow, IDSA, Dr Uttam Sinha, who were on a week long visit to Norway and the Barents Region from June 11-16, 2012, visited the Russian town of Nikel as part of the Barents countries cooperation and interacted with local officials in the villages of Zapolyarny and Korzunovo on June 15, 2012.

Research Fellow, IDSA, Dr Uttam Sinha interacted with Senior Editors from Bangladesh on Water Issues during a discussion organised by the Ministry of External Affairs-External Publicity division (MEA-XP) on June 4, 2012, at The Maurya, New Delhi.

A four-member delegation led by Director General IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta concluded a week long visit to China from May 29 to June 3, 2012. During the visit, Dr Gupta addressed the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR Forum) on the theme ‘The Future of Afghanistan and Regional Cooperation’ with an Indian perspective. He also led the IDSA delegation in the bilateral dialogue and interaction with scholars from CICIR that was led by its President Mr Cui Liru. Bilateral, regional and international issues were discussed.
