India’s Strategic Rebalancing with Russia and the Interplay of Bilateral Ties, Triangular Pressures, and Global Shifts
This article advances an analysis of India’s strategic rebalancing with Russia, and argues that India’s recalibration reflects adaptive restructuring driven by layered interdependencies. It examines the institutional foundations of the relationship and the recent 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit as a moment of strategic signalling, reaffirming continuity in turbulent times. Bilateral dynamics are assessed in terms of the legacy military partnership as well as evolving trade patterns, logistics, and connectivity initiatives. The analysis then situates India–Russia ties within triangular configurations with the USA and China, and thereafter in the global-systemic dynamics, to arrive at policy considerations and the drivers of rebalancing.
