The Eurasian Logic of Ostpolitik: Testing the Limits of Normative Geoeconomics
This study explores the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity in India-China border management, emphasising the shift from Traditional Security Studies (TSS) to Non-Traditional Security Studies (NTSS). It critically examines how AI-driven systems, like CIBMS, reshape national defence, raising concerns about surveillance overreach, algorithmic bias, and democratic accountability. Using securitisation theory and surveillance capitalism, the study highlights how digital technologies serve as instruments of power, often undermining civil liberties. The paper calls for a hybrid security paradigm that integrates strategic deterrence with ethical governance, ensuring responsible AI deployment in geopolitically sensitive regions.
