Research Fellow, Manohar Parrikar IDSA, Capt (IN) Anurag Bisen participated in the International Conference on ‘Engaging with Polar Regions: Science, Human Ecology and Geopolitics’ (EPR-2023) at the International Centre for Polar Studies (ICPS), MG University, Kerala, from 26-28 October 2023.

Capt Bisen made a presentation on India’s Arctic Policy, Engagement and Interests.

Associate Fellow, Manohar Parrikar IDSA, Dr Gulbin Sultana participated in a panel discussion on Maldives Regime Change at the India International Centre (IIC), on 19 October 2023. The other panellists included Admiral Shekhar Sinha, former CinC Western Naval Command and CISC Integrated Defence Staff, Ms Jyoti Malhotra, senior journalist and Consulting Editor, The Print.

The panel was moderated by Major Gen Ashok Mehta, commentator on Strategic issues. The discussion was a part of IIC’s Neighborhood Series.

Capt Bisen made a presentation on Regional Co-operation to Combat IUU Fishing in the Indian Ocean Region.

Research Fellow, Manohar Parrikar IDSA, Dr Smruti S. Pattanaik participated in the 11th round of the India Bangladesh Dialogue and the Sylhet-Silchar Festival, organised by India Foundation and Bangladesh Research Foundation, from 5-7 October 2023, at Sylhet, Bangladesh. Dr Pattanaik gave a presentation on cooperation between India and Bangladesh to further cooperation on digital innovation

Research Fellow, Manohar Parrikar IDSA, Capt (IN) Anurag Bisen participated in the 4th High North Talks at Yverdon Les Bains, Switzerland, on 05-06 October 2023. The talks were organised by the Diplomatic Dialogue Division of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, to address a range of topics, including the next steps for scientific cooperation and governance in the Arctic, potential areas of collaboration, and mitigation of potential confrontation in the Arctic.
