Africa Day Event on the theme “Africa–India Partnership: Towards a Common Future”

May 19, 2026 @ 12:00 am

The Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi, cordially invites you to participate in the Africa Day Event on the theme “Africa–India Partnership: Towards a Common Future”, scheduled for Tuesday, 19 May 2026, from 0930 hrs to 1730 hrs (IST) at the MP-IDSA Auditorium.

In the evolving global order, Africa is increasingly recognised as a key driver of transformation and sustainable solutions. This is underpinned by its vast renewable energy potential, natural carbon sinks, critical mineral resources, and youthful workforce. With the forthcoming Fourth India–Africa Forum Summit, there is renewed momentum to further strengthen and reimagine the Africa–India partnership, particularly in advancing shared developmental priorities and deepening strategic cooperation.

This engagement builds on Africa’s rising prominence in global governance, reflected in its expanding role across platforms such as the G20, BRICS, the Global Biofuels Alliance, the International Solar Alliance, and the International Big Cat Alliance. These developments signify a broader shift towards a more inclusive and representative global order, within which India and Africa are well positioned to collaborate in strengthening resilient supply chains and advancing sustainable development.
The event will bring together policymakers, diplomats, scholars, and practitioners to exchange perspectives on key areas, including economic cooperation, energy resilience, maritime security, and critical minerals.
