Due to this, the security of defence technology has become an issue of utmost importance for national security policy. Furthermore, contemporary conflict now takes place in the non-kinetic realm rather than the specified physical area. Therefore, protection of advanced weapon systems, critical infrastructure and proprietary research is as crucial as governing the sovereign territory.
