Mohanasakthivel J is a Research Analyst with the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi. His area of research includes Foreign Policy Analysis, International law, Regional Integration and Ethnic Conflicts.

He is a law graduate and holds an M.A. in Diplomacy, Law, and Business from Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P. Jindal Global University. Before joining MP-IDSA he was Fellow and Academic Tutor at Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P. Jindal Global University. He has also been a Researcher at the WION news agency, Noida. He has published news articles in Manila Times, Jerusalem Post, Washington Times, and South Asia Voices.
