  • Reshaping the United Nations with the Concept of Human Security

    The United Nations (UN) now faces diversifying and interconnected threats to the global society. The threats today exhibit connectivity beyond areas, disciplines and locations. In ably responding to global challenges, the UN must update its concept of security and utilize the concept of human security as its guiding framework. The days of debate on definitions of human security are over. It is time to move on to the Human Security Version 2.0 with emphasis on connectivity of threats and on operationalizing the concept in updating the organization and its functions including establishing a Global Human Security Council.
