    TO BE ANSWERED ON 24.08.2011

    SHRI JAI PRAKASH AGARWAL:

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

    (a) the number of times and the fora where Pakistan has raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir during the last three years, till date; and
    (b) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SMT. PRENEET KAUR)

    (a) & (b) Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue repeatedly at various international fora. Government's principled and consistent position on the issue of Jammu & Kashmir is that the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the Indian Union. A part of the territory of the State is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. India is committed to resolve all issues with Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir, through bilateral dialogue.
