    Shri BHISMA SHANKAR ALIAS KUSHAL TIWARI

    Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-
    (a) whether his Ministry extends assistance to Indians seeking visa to other countries;

    (b) if so, the details thereof;

    (c) whether it has come to the notice of the Government that certains countries have allegedly denied visa to Indians in the name of religion;

    (d) if so, the details thereof for the last three years and the current year; and

    (e) the steps taken/proposed to be taken in this regard?

    ANSWER : THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRIMATI PRENEET KAUR)

    (a) & (b) Ministry of External Affairs assists holders of diplomatic or official passports in obtaining visas of foreign countries for official/private purposes by issuing a note verbale addressed to the concerned foreign Mission requesting for visa.

    (c) No instance of denial of visa to Indians in the name of religion has come to the notice of the Government.

    (d) & (e) Do not arise.
