Dr. Paulami Sanyal was a Research Analyst on Bangladesh at MP-IDSA. She joined the Institute in November 2019. She was earlier a Research Assistant with the Institute for Conflict Management (ICM), New Delhi.
She has a Ph.D. from the Centre for West Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She did her M.Phil. from the same Centre and holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her Ph.D. thesis was titled “Role of New Media during Arab Spring in Egypt.”
Dr. Sanyal’s broader areas of interest include media’s role in politics, New Media’s relations with politics, media in Bangladesh, Egyptian politics, and India-Egypt relations. Her research papers have been published in Contemporary Review of the Middle East. She has also published chapters in three edited volumes: Persian Gulf 2013: India’s Relations with the Region, Persian Gulf 2014: India’s Relations with the Region and Persian Gulf 2015: India’s Relations with the Region.
