  • At least six persons were killed and 80 others wounded as terrorists set off bomb blasts in Malegaon in Maharashtra and Modasa in Gujarat on September 29. In both the incidents, explosives were suspected to have been placed on motorcycles. Five persons were killed and 70 others wounded when a bomb went off at a hotel in Malegaon. The blast in Malegaon came two years after a powerful explosion in a mosque left 38 dead in September 2006. Further, one boy was killed and ten others injured in a low intensity blast at Modasa in Gujarat. Both the blasts took place in Muslim-dominated areas1.
