Reports noted that a high level official delegation, led by Home Minister Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, is on a visit to Maldives to attend the Fifth SAARC Home Ministers meeting to be held on 26th September, 2012. Shri Shinde is accompanied by Shri R.K. Singh, Home Secretary and other senior officers. The meeting of SAARC Home Ministers will be preceded by meetings of immigration Authorities and SAARC Home Secretaries on September 25 and 26. The meeting is likely to discuss matters related to terrorism, maritime security and piracy, combating trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and mutual assistance in criminal matters. Cyber crimes and trafficking in women and children in South Asia are other issues on the Agenda. On the sidelines of the SAARC meeting, Shri Shinde is also likely to hold bilateral discussions with the Home Ministers of other SAARC countries too. 1
