North Korea shifts control of its economic projects from the military to the cabinet

  • As part of its efforts to bring about far reaching economic reforms in North Korea, the new leadership of the communist regime under Kim Jong-un recently decided to shift control of its economic projects from the rigid and conservative military to the cabinet. Pyongynag is currently leading an economic reform programme known as “June 28 new economy management system” which insists on several reforms, including abandoning its rationing system. 1
