  • Myanmar’s Defence minister and other top generals are reported to have resigned their posts, with some of them set to run for election as civilians in the nation's first political contest in 20 years. Meanwhile the UN is planning to setup an enquiry on war crimes in Myanmar. The US President Barack Obama meanwhile has also decided to throw his crucial support behind moves to establish a special UN commission to investigate alleged war crimes perpetrated by the military rulers in Myanmar.1
