An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale struck near Damghan, Semnan province of northern Iran, killing 3 people and injuring 40 others. The tremors were also felt in Tehran and parts of Mazandaran province. It would be worth noting that in December 2003, a 6.6 magnitude earth quake had hit the Iran’s southern city of Bam killing about 30,000 people.1
