China’s Xinhua news agency reported that the “Beihai Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy will conduct a live-ammunition drill in the Yellow Sea from September 1 to 4. The news report comes in wake of a new round of joint exercise by the US and South Korea in the Yellow Sea, following the sinking of a South Korean naval ship in March. China had earlier strongly objected to the US led military exercise in water “near its coast”.1
