According to reports, sticking to its disassociation policy on the Syrian conflict, Lebanon informed Iran that it would not attend the emergency consultative talks that were held in Tehran last week. 1 Meanwhile, the US has slapped sanctions on Hezbollah for allegedly supporting the Syrian government. It has also blamed the group for coordinating Iranian assistance to the Syrian government. When asked what the sanctions might accomplish, the US Treasury Department said it hopes other countries will follow suit thus restricting Hezbollah operations. The US State Department has recently warned against possible attacks by Hezbollah in Europe and around the world. 2
