Nepal and Bhutan agree to talk on the Bhutanese refugees issue; India commits Rs. 400 million for currency stabilization efforts

  • On the sidelines of the SAARC Summit in Colombo, Nepal and Bhutan agreed to continue their talks on issues relating to Bhutanese refugees. These talks were last held in December 20031.

    India meanwhile committed around Rs. 400 million towards efforts to stabilize the currency of Bhutan. This was made during the recent visit to India of Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley2.
