DRS Technologies Inc. obtained an order worth $22 million to produce 300 M989A1 Heavy Expanded Mobility Ammunition Trailers (HEMATs) for the US Army. The main function of the HEMAT is to transport Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRs) pods, conventional ammunition and other equipment on melted, secondary or cross-country roads. The system is known for its reliability, durability and versatility under extremely harsh military conditions1.
