Agni-II successfully tested

  • The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired the 3,000 km range Agni-II ballistic missile from a mobile launcher from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off the Orissa coast1. The Agni-II can carry a 1,000 kilogram conventional or non-conventional payload.

    Reports noted that the user trial was carried out under the supervision of the Army. After three successful user-trial tests, the missile was now ready for production. The state-owned Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is the principal agency responsible for the production of the Agni series of missiles.
