Eleven persons killed in Maoist attack

  • Eleven persons, including four civilians and seven security forces personnel, were killed in an ambush on a police party by the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh on May 6. The Maoists managed to flee, taking with them the weapons of the slain security personnel. The police party was on its way back after delivering a consignment of monthly ration at a police camp at Bhejji, when the Maoists triggered a land mine blast1.
