Yemen: 11 protesters killed and several injured in Taiz by security forces

  • Around 11 protesters were killed by the security forces in Taiz, Yemen. Two people were killed on April 3 while nine others were killed on April 4. More than 500 protesters have been injured in the incident when security forces opened live fire on protesters and attacked them with batons and tear gas when the protesters tried to march to a presidential palace.1 According to eyewitnesses, protesters gathered around the province’s administrative building and headed to the presidential palace, but police stopped them by firing gunshots in the air and using teargas which left many people injured.
