  • Two days of substantive talks between the United States and North Korea’s top nuclear envoys took place in Geneva last week. Speaking to reporters after the talks, Ambassador Hill said that the talks covered just about every possible aspect of the nuclear issue, notably the crucial question of the North's efforts to develop nuclear warheads with uranium at their core. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said discussions are under way with the four others in the six-party talks – China, the host country, as well as Russia, Japan, and South Korea, on moving the process ahead. She however, advised not to “expect anything immediate1.”
