  • According to reports, Chinese army has announced that it will work towards regulating the expenditure strictly. This was in accordance to the campaign against waste and corruption. 1

    Chinese marine ships continue to patrol the waters around Diaoyu Islands. This was announced by the State Oceanic Administration. 2

    Chinese foreign minister Yang Jiechi said that the upcoming visit of the Chinese president to Russia and South Africa is expected to increase the level of cooperation and partnership. 3

    Xi Jinping has called for the “better development” of the SCO. He said this during his meeting with the new general-secretary of SCO Dmitry Mezentsev on February 22, 2013. 4

    The allegations by the United States on the Chinese hackers attack has been heavily criticized by the Chinese media as groundless finger-pointing.5 Meanwhile, the Chinese army spokesperson has said that the Chinese army has never supported any hacking activities. 6
    Beijing has denounced reports that North Korea had informed China about its plans to carry more nuclear tests. In addition a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson cautioned against actions that could further harm the situation on the Korean Peninsula7.
