  • Reports noted that ISRO and DRDO were developing a satellite with sensors “to pick up conversations and detect espionage activities” across the borders. The satellite to be placed in the lower-orbit by a polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) is likely to be launched in 2014. The components for the Rs. 100 crore satellite will be jointly developed by the Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE), the Defence Electronics and Research Laboratory (DLRL) and Bharat Electronics Ltd.
