India, Maldives sign agreement for cooperation in the IT sector; Subsidized office space provided to the Maldives by the Commonwealth’s Small States Office in Geneva

India and Maldives has signed a US$5.7 million agreement which would facilitate Indian IT assistance to the Maldives. The Indian government also delivered sports equipments worth seven million rupees and medical consumables worth 10.6 million rupees (Rf3.1 million) to the Maldives.1

The Maldives has been provided subsidized office space by the Commonwealth’s Small States Office in Geneva which will allow Maldives to establish a diplomatic presence in the region for bilateral accreditation in Europe and to the many multilateral organizations in Geneva. 2
