Russian investment in the first stage of the project is close to 300 million US$ and production is expected to start next year. The agreement was signed in 2009 in Moscow between Rosatom Corp., Russia’s nuclear power company, Russia’s government-run Armuz-Uranium Holding and Mongolia’s state-owned KOO MonAtom. Dordon Uran is expected to produce 2,000 tons of uranium annually. The joint venture would be focusing on the Dornod deposit and the East Gobi fields in Mongolia.
