    According to reports, three persons accused of being members of the outlawed Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) have been detained in Sughd Province in northern Tajikistan, the Tajik Interior Ministry's regional department for the fight against organized crime said in a press release on October 17. 1

    According to reports at a meeting of parliamentarians from Kazakhstan and China held in Beijing on October 16th 2013, the President of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatullin and the Chairman of China’s Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC) Zhang Dejiang have signed a memorandum of cooperation on Mass Communication Services. The Memorandum of cooperation will enable the two sides to have parliament committees and cooperation groups exchange expertise and best practices and render mutual support within international parliamentary organizations. “The Memorandum seeks to render legislation support to strategic agreements reached between the two nations’ leaders”, Nigmatullin noted. 2
