Khleda Zia visits China; USPACOM wants to build closer "military-military relations" with the Bangladesh Navy

  • Reports noted that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khleda Zia left for China on October 14, 2012 on a seven-day visit at the invitation of Chinese Communist Party.1
    In another development, according to reports, the Pacific Command (PACOM) of the United States wants to build closer "military-military relations" with the Bangladesh Navy to fulfill its mandate to ensure better security environment in the Asia Pacific. This was noted by visiting Commander of the US Pacom Admiral Samuel J Locklear on October 10, 2012. 2
