Philippines Advocates Rule-Based Regional Approach to South China Sea Dispute

Giving an insight into the Philippine’s perspective on the South China Sea issue, Undersecretary (Vice Minister) for Policy, Department of Foreign Affairs, Manila, Philippines, Hon’ble Evan P Garcia today described Philippines’ arbitration case under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) as a just and concrete step towards finding resolution to the dispute in the South China Sea. HE Garcia was speaking on ‘Recent Developments in the South China Sea’ as a part of the ‘IDSA Eminent Persons’ Lecture series, organised by the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), on Thursday, July 16, 2015.
