Jivanta Schöttli is a lecturer in the department of political science, South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University, Germany from where she completed her doctorate with a Summa cum Laude. Jivanta did her bachelors and masters degrees in International Relations and Economic History respectively, from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests include Indian politics and foreign policy. Based on her doctoral thesis, a book titled, "Strategy and Vision in Politics: Jawaharlal Nehru’s policy choices and the designing of political institutions" is due to be published shortly by Routledge, London. She has co-written a Dictionary of Economics and Politics of South Asia (Europa, London, 2006) and co-edited State and Foreign Policy in South Asia (Samskriti, New Delhi, 2010)
