    • Currently, equivalent to Pay Level 10 in 7th CPC (Rs . 56,100/- Rs. 1,77,500/-)

    On-Campus Accommodation

    • Residential accommodation is available at MP-IDSA.
    • In case, accommodation is not provided, HRA will be permissible.

    Contractual

    • For a three years term including a probationary period of initial six months  from the date of joining the Institute
    • Fresh Fellowship maybe granted, if applied for and subject to suitability assessed by the Institute.  However, this will not confer any right of permanence.

    Age Limit

    Not more than 45 years as on 30 June 2023.

    (This restriction is not applicable to current MP-IDSA employees applying for the post.)

    Age relaxation applicable as per the govt. norms for reserved category candidates.

    Educational and Professional Qualifications

    Minimum

    • Ph.D. or M.Phil. or Master’s degree with at least Second Division,  in Social Sciences and allied fields such as public policy, international relations, strategic affairs, development studies with a minimum research experience of 02, 03 or 04 years respectively.

    Preferred

    • The above is the minimum qualification. Candidates with longer research experience and better educational qualification.
    • Candidates who have completed the doctorate degree in a related subject and have published peer- reviewed work of high order
    • Candidates with requisite work and research experience in think tanks, research institutes or universities

    Overall Purpose and Role

    • Shall be associated with the nominated Centre, will contribute ideas for the enhancement of techniques or methodologies for research at the Institute and is expected to take significant initiatives in the centre’s work, in consultation with the Centre Coordinator

    Job Description*

    Follow Institute work norms as defined in “Fellowship Rules 2011” of the Institute, which will be a combination of the following:

    • Publication of Monograph
    • Presentation and publication of Research Papers in peer reviewed journals.
    • Publishing policy brief/ issue brief, book review, web commentary, op-ed, articles, essays, occasional papers, book chapters etc.
    • Accrue credit points as per quantification table.
    • Organising round tables, workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings under the aegis of the Centre/ Institute.
    • Carrying out research activities related to own area of research.
    • Projects undertaken by the Institute.
    • Any other task assigned by the Institute.

    • Research Proposal (maximum 2000 words) as per the format of the Institute (http://idsa.in/system/files/page/2015/research-proposal.pdf). Research Proposal submitted in any other format are liable to be rejected.
    • Two letters of references (not applicable to internal candidates)
    • Two published (single authored) writing samples (Research papers/ articles in refereed journals)
    • No Objection Certificate in original, in case applicant is employed in any Government Department/ autonomous body.
    • List of / Books/ Monographs/ Papers/ Articles published
    • Caste Certificate issued to the candidate by the competent authority should be in the format prescribed by Government of India for this purpose.
    • The candidates applying under PwD Category are required to submit the Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority in the format prescribed by Government of India for this purpose.
    • The Reservation to OBC candidates shall be applicable as per the directives of the Government of India amended form time to time. Candidates shall upload recent OBC caste certificates issued from a competent authority particularly with reference to non-creamy layer. The candidates who are not in the Central list of OBC shall not apply for the post(s) reserved for OBC and if at any stage, it is found that the OBC certificate is not valid, the candidate shall stand cancelled and appointment made, if any, shall be terminated with immediate effect without any further notice.

    General Information

    • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews at MP-IDSA, Delhi
    • Certificates in original are to be produced in support of educational and age eligibility (and category, if applicable) at the time of interview.
    • Education qualification will be calculated as on last date of submission of application.
    • Shortlisted outstation candidates will be paid AC- III tier rail fare on production of tickets, by the shortest route
    • The Institute reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of positions (category wise) as also fill or not to fill any or all the positions advertised, based on institute’s requirement.
    • The Institute reserves the right to offer a higher/lower position to a candidate who has been interviewed, based on his /her aptitude and Institute’s requirement, proviso to the required vacancy existing at the Institute (category wise), on the date of interview, and the candidate’s consent.
    • The Institute reserves the right to cancel recruitment at any stage without assigning any reason.
    • The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates, the Institute, at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic achievements and feedback on past performance
    • The Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate(s) at any stage in the process of selection in case any inadvertent mistake is detected even after issue of appointment letter.
    • The Institute reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the advertisement/ website in the event of any typographical error etc. before the last date prescribed for the receipt of applications, for which the candidates are advised to be in the lookout for announcements on the Institute’s website under ‘Jobs’ in ‘About Us’ tab.
    • MP-IDSA reserves the right to relax the prescribed qualifications for candidates found more suitable for the position with relevant experience and expertise in the specified field.
    • All certificates (including those of reserved categories) will be subject to verification/reverification as may be decided by the competent authority, as per prevailing Government guidelines.
    • Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under the 'Creamy Layer' and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as 'General (GEN)’
    • PwD candidates applying against UR vacancies are allowed age relaxation as applicable to UR (PwD) only.
    • The Reservation to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates shall be applicable as per Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Persons, DoPT OM No.36039/1/2019-Estt. (Res.) dated 31 January, 2019. The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by competent authority, as per the above mentioned DoPT OM dt. 31.2019, as candidate’s claim belonging to EWS. Candidate shall enclose the copy of EWS certificate in the application form.

      The candidate who do not belong to EWS category shall not apply for the post(s) reserved for EWS and if any stage, it is found that the EWS certificate is not valid, the candidature shall stand cancelled and appointment made, if any, shall be terminated with immediate effect without any further notice.

    • In case a candidate joins the Institute accepting the Terms and Conditions contained herein, she/he will be required to give an undertaking in writing that she/he will not apply for any appointment or course, part-time or full-time, without obtaining the written permission from the competent authority of the Institute. Also, while in service of the Institute, she/he will not engage in any trade or business or undertake any other full-time or part- time appointment.
    • The selected candidate shall be subjected to other rules and regulations as applicable to MP-IDSA Scholars and Staff
