    A six-member delegation from Cross Strait Interflow Prospect Foundation, an independent Taiwanese think tank visited IDSA for an interaction on November 2, 2012. The delegation was led by President of the Foundation, Mr Kuang Chung Liu.

    The areas discussed during the interaction were India-Taiwan relations, Cross Strait Relations, India-China relations, territorial disputes, cooperation in regional security, economy, technology and trade. Senior Fellow, IDSA, Dr RN Das chaired the interaction.

    Executive Director, Lakshman Kadiragamar Institute for International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIRSS), Mr Asanga Abeygoonasekara called on Director General IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta on November 2, 2012 and discussed the possibilities of a bilateral collaboration between the two institutes. Research Scholars, Dr Ashok Behuria and Dr Smruti Pattanaik were also present during the discussion.

    The two day international seminar on ‘Maritime Dimensions of Power Game in Asia’ concluded in IDSA on November 1, 2012. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Law and Justice, Dr Ashwini Kumar, on October 31, 2012.

    The key speakers included, former Indian Navy chief and member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB), Admiral (Retd.) Arun Prakash, Vice Admiral Premvir Das, Vice Admiral (Retd.) Mihir Roy, Prof. Masahiro Akiyama of OPRF and Distinguished Fellow, Observer Research Foundation, Dr C Rajamohan.

The topic of discussion was the recently held ‘Third Round of India-US-Japan Trilateral Dialogue’ and developing relations between India, United States and China.

    New Delhi: “Mobility was, is and will be the prime principle of war, which India lacks even today”, stated Lt Gen JFR Jacob PVSM (Retd.), known for the role he played in India's victory in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and the Liberation of Bangladesh, at the book launch of eight volumes of ‘Official History of Indian Armed Forces In The Second World War 1939-45’ at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) on October 30, 2012.
