A 13-member delegation from Australian Defence College, led by Comdt Maj Gen Craig Orme Orme, Commander of the College, visited IDSA on June 4, 2012. The delegation comprised civil and military officers from Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. IDSA scholars provided perspectives on Asian Security (S. Kalyanaraman), Maritime Challenges in the Indian Ocean Region (S.S. Parmar) and the situation in Afghanistan (Vishal Chandra). The visiting delegation also made a presentation on ‘Australia's Approach to Defence and Security Issues in the Asia-Pacific Region’. Both sides emerged from this exchange of views with a better appreciation of the other's perspectives.
