    Lieutenant General A. S. Kalkat, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.) was the force Commander of IPKF and was the first awardee of Sarvottam
    Yudh Seva Medal, the country’s highest award for Leadership in War & Conflict. He retired as Army Commander of Southern command.

    Shekhar Gupta is Founder and Editor-in-Chief of ThePrint, a digital start-up building a new editorial space of non-hyphenated liberalism. In his four-
    decade career, he has reported on key Indian and international events, including the many twists and turns in the troubled 1983-1993 decade in Sri Lanka's Tamil North.

    Brigadier N. K. Bahri VSM (Retd.) is a Veteran of the 1962, 1965 and 1971 Wars. He has extensive experience of CI ops in Punjab and Nagaland
    and in high altitude terrain. He was handpicked for the challenge of creating logistics support to the IPKF from scratch in 1987 to deinduction in 1990.
