Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour has said that the country will stay with its policy of dissociation from the Syrian conflict as the UN General Assembly (UNGA) session opens this week. Although the policy has been criticised by Lebanese opposition parties, the government has dissociated itself from decisions about Syria insisting that it is the right policy for Lebanon’s “national unity, security and stability”. The UNGA session will be accompanied by a series of meetings to discuss ongoing issues in Lebanon and the Arab world. Mansour has also called for an emergency Arab League meeting to discuss developments surrounding the anti-Islam film that has incited violent protests across Muslim nations. 1
