General Electric (GE) Oil and Gas won a Chinese pipeline contract worth over $100 million on September 9 to supply pipeline compression equipment for the country’s second West-to-East natural gas pipeline. Construction of the new pipeline, which consists of a main line and eight sub-lines, began earlier in the year. The pipeline was expected to be operational by the end of 2009. GE was also an equipment supplier for the expansion of China's first West-to-East pipeline in 20051.
