Reports noted that President Dr Mohamed Waheed made an official visit to Sri Lanka on August 23-25, 2012 on the invitation of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. President Waheed was accompanied by First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain and a delegation of senior government officials and local media. During his visit, President Waheed met with President Rajapaksa and hold official talks between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. President Waheed also met with the diplomatic community and major business leaders in Sri Lanka. 1
