IIT Kanpur, in a bid to enhance the flow of information pertaining to disaster management, will develop a micro-satellite in collaboration with IRSO. The micro-satellite would give accurate information on the nation's agricultural situation, transmit warnings about natural calamities like floods and famine and would also act as a communicating device for other space satellites1.
