  • Malaysia and Brunei held their 13th annual consultation in Bandar Deri Begawan. Malaysian Prime Minister Naji Razak and Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah renewed their commitment to strengthen their bilateral relations and increase cooperation in areas such as trade and investment. Brunei’s recent proposal to establish joint committees to facilitate and create conducive environment for promoting cooperation was appreciated by Malaysia1.

    Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin tun Hussein visited Australia during the week. In meetings with his Australian counterparts, both the countries agreed to hold a working group meeting involving senior officials to deal with the issue of human trafficking to Australia, for which Malaysia was being used as a transit country2.
