Reports noted that the trails of the fighter jets in the fray for the $12 billion MMRCA contract will begin soon. Six companies - including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, EADS, MiG, Dassault and Saab would participate in the trial. While Boeing would take part with its F/A-18 Super Hornet, Lockheed Martin and EADS will showcase the F-16 and Typhoon Eurofighter respectively. Russia will display its MiG-35 and MiG-29 fighters while the French Dassault will showcase its Rafale aircraft. Sweden’s Saab will bring the Gripen. Reports indicated that Boeing and Lockheed Martin were the current front runners1.
