Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC): No corruption was involved in the leasing of INIA to GMR; GMR seeks $1.4 bn

  • According to reports, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stated in its report that no corruption was involved in the leasing of the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to the Indian infrastructure company GMR by the previous administration. 1

    However, according to reports, GMR has sought a compensation of $1.4 billion for the termination of the contract between GMR and the Maldivian government to develop and operate Ibrahim Nasir International Airport following the “wrongful termination” of the 25-year contract, and that the claim was filed on June 21, 2013 before an arbitration court in Singapore. 2
