  • Unidentified militants set ablaze at least 115 houses, gunned down one person and injured two others during an attack at Dimasa, a remote village in the troubled North Cachar Hills district, on June 26. The attack came even as the district administration is awaiting the release of funds by the state government for converting the Dimasa and Zeme Naga villages into clusters and shifting of 10,000 people of about 50 villages into these proposed clusters in order to launch a full-scale counter-insurgency operations in the depopulated villages1.
