At the Paris Air Show, Rolls-Royce bagged contracts worth $4.1 billion, mostly from the Asian and Middle Eastern customers. The company also inked a major research contract, ENTAPS (Engine Technologies for Aircraft Persistence and Survivability) with the UK Ministry of Defence. Under the terms of the contract, mature propulsion technologies like distortion-tolerant fans and high temperature combustion and turbine systems are proposed to be developed1.
