  • NSCN has expelled the group’s chief S.S. Khaplang from the outfit for alleged autocratic style of functioning. The expulsion came after Khaplang removed the outfit’s self-styled commander-in-chief general Khole Konyak, who was nominated as the acting chairman of the NSCN.1 Khaplang, after his expulsion, has come up with counter-expulsion orders against senior functionaries of GPRN/NSCN terming it as a unification group indicating further splits in the Naga insurgent outfit.2

    The Project Manager and the Commercial Manager of ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd were kidnapped by armed miscreants from Mizoram. They were abducted by about 10 armed miscreants from their camp in Meidum.3

    19 children from Tamenglong district of Manipur who were trafficked to Maharashtra in 2007 on the pretext of providing free education in Detheaba Children Home there, have been brought back to the State.4

    Intelligence inputs about a plan by members of the anti-talk faction of the ULFA to target the oil companies have kept the security on alert. According to security agencies 35 hardcore militants including few well trained cadres have already entered Assam from the bases of the outfit in Myanmar.5
