Reports noted that during US special envoy for North Korean human rights issues, Robert King’s recent visit to North Korea, the latter has assured that in case of large scale food assistance from the US, Pyongyang would not only take measures to prevent misappropriation, but also accept all other conditions attached to the aid. However, South Korea reportedly has asked the US to limit its food aid to the North. 1
