Maldives Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Aishath Sehenaz Adam and Defense Minister Amin Faisal discussed defence cooperation between the two countries at a meeting held in Male1.

In an effort to gather support for the Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change to be held later in the year, Ibrahim Hussain Zaki, designated a special envoy of President Nasheed, was currently on a tour of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands2.

President Nasheed meanwhile, in a telephonic conversation, congratulated President Rajapakse on successfully fighting terrorism. Mr. Nasheed stated that Maldives strongly supported Sri Lanka’s “unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity” and re-affirmed his country’s cooperation with Sri Lanka at bilateral, regional and international fora3.
