  • Olli Heinonen, the IAEA deputy chief, again visited Tehran on April 29 for a day-long meeting with top Iranian officials about Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons programme. He had led an IAEA team for discussions on April 21-23 during which Tehran had assured the IAEA about answering questions about its nuclear programme1.

In other developments, Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA announced that Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog would resume their talks by the end of next week. Reports indicate that the talks will focus on pressing Iran over allegations that it conducted studies on how to design a nuclear weapon2.
